It’s Aplomb is my declaration to let self expression spill from my mouth. For so long, like many of us, I’ve kept my teeth tight and eyes down when anyone asked me, “Origen, what are you thinking?” Not any longer. I’m tired of walking on eggshells. I’m tired of lying about how I feel or what I truly believe.
This blog is an honest attempt to remedy the years of silence and cowardice I’ve imposed onto my art.
I have a large backlog of writing that has never seen the light of day. It’s never been judged, it’s never been praised. It’s collected dust, literal and digital, but I’m committed to never neglect my truth again.
It’s Aplomb is an experiment. It’s a statement of being, composed of my poetry, short stories, opinions, and blog posts.
I hope you’ll stay and join me on this journey, but most of all I hope the writing speaks for itself.
